    How to Program/(Activate) The Card for Use

    1. Before you begin, fill in all the information for the child who will use this card, including the pin number located on the back of the card. Important: No toll free numbers (800, 877, etc.) can be programmed.

    2. Now dial 1-618-355-1113 to start programming and follow the prompts.

     

     
    3. Press 1 for English or 2 for Spanish.
       
    4. Select "Program All Features"
       
    5. Record the message that your child will hear when they enter their pin number (ex: "Johnny, this is Mom. Follow the directions to reach one of us") Be sure to include the name of your child.
     

     

    6. Next, enter the contact information for each person. Select a Speed-Dial Number (1 through 7). Record a name (ex: "Grandma's house") and enter the phone number (1+Area Code+7 digit Number). To move ahead at any time, press 9.

    Note: If you hear "entry is invalid", don't worry. You will be given another chance to enter correctly.

     

     
    7. Next, record Health Information on Speed Dial Number 8 Only as indicated on back of card. (ex: Allergies, Doctor, etc.) Do not record information for any child other than the child who will actually use this card. Be sure to maintain current health information.

    To change any or all program entries at any time go to Step 2 above, follow the prompts, and select the specific entries you wish to change.

    Before actual testing, conduct a simulation with your child on the use of the card.

     
    Make sure your child can:

    1 Dial the Toll-Free 888 number

    2 Enter the pin number

    3 Select a contact number as instructed on the back of the card
     

    Note: If your child gets an answering machine, he or she may leave a message and/or press ** to return to the menu to select another contact number. If your child gets a busy signal or no answer, a prompt will instruct your child to press 1, which will return him or her to the menu to select another contact number.

    Remember, you have been given 15 free minutes to help you get started

    When your child dials in, the prompt will tell how many minutes are left on the card. It is a good idea to reorder before the number of minutes falls below seven.
